Abstract
Text chat is relatively easy on the modern internet, but high quality audio, video, or desktop streaming starts to push the limits as the number of participants goes up. This talk will discuss the way that XMPP negotiates such datastreams, how it works in groups today, and an overview of solutions such as Selective Forwarding Units and Multipoint Control Units which could allow groups to grow far further. While these topics are technical, the presentation will attempt to explain them such that anyone who is curious will be able to get up to speed.
