Abstract

This talk covers the current progress in successfully reverse engineering the binary blobs on mobile devices, with the longer term goal of creating FOSS replacements. Topics discussed are how the radio subsystem functions, the protocol layers, and identifying the functionality of many of the binary blobs, and how the librephone project will replace them utilizing clean room techniques.
